Note: these changes are currently temporary for the duration of the Spooktacular event. That being said, some of the class changes we've made have an actual shot at becoming real mini (or full) reworks that will be applied in a future patch.

Spooktacular is an annual event where we "spice" up content/classes. It's a temporary event that tends to last around 1 week, but we're keeping it up for much longer this time.

Reminder:

  • NOT EVERY CLASS will get changes during Spooktacular's duration
  • Those of us working on Spook DO NOT have time to work on every single class
  • If your class did not receive any changes, sorry but please for the love of whatever you believe in, DO NOT complain about "dev bias" or anything of the sort. This event is inherently "dev bias'd" cause we will work on what we want to work on
  • There are two types of "Spooks"
  • Experimental: We may implement these changes permanently in the future. We're using the Spook event as a way to let people publicly "beta test" our changes
  • For fun: Silly, troll, or otherwise non-serious changes to classes that are NOT planned for permanent implementation

Here's a Google Doc cause holy fuck I can't be fucked to format all this stuff for temporary class changes. There's a little bit of extra info and/or behind the scenes development stuff written in here as notes for ourselves so if it doesn't make any sense to you, don't worry about it. Machina didn't get any changes this year (sorry) but there's a new class coming so please look forward to that!

Unrestricted Time Attack

  • Both Black Dragon Nest Time Attack and Desert Dragon Nest Time Attack will have FULL drops during the duration of Spooktacular! Go wild!

QC Purchase Rebate

  • Get 10% extra QC on every purchase from after maintenance until November 1, 2024 11:59 PM (server time)

PvE Content

Red Dragon Nest Nightmare

  • Red Dragon Nest Nightmare now has a checkpoint after Jasmine
  • Red Dragon Nest Nightmare token drops increased: 70 ~ 115 -->  110 ~ 140

Reward Shop

  • Added Mini Dynamo Horatio. Existing Dynamo Horatio pets are the hilariously large ones
  • Added an exchange from Pether's Nightmare Fragments to Menacing Ducklings for Spooktacular event

Forest Dragon Nest

  • Forest Dragon Nest drops buffed Whispering Everbloom: 3 --> 6 (Bound) & 0 --> 3 (Rollable NEW)

Twilight Bay Nests

  • BN and TN now swap their drop priority every week (same schedule as DDNTA/BDNTA, but instead of no drops they just change which they drop more of)

Midgame Progression

  • Void Enigma crafting no longer requires Starlit Jewel
  • Starlit Jewels are now defunct. You can exchange them at a 1:1 rate to Void Essence at Kaye's Material Exchange Shop
  • Starlit Jewel description updated to say that they're not used anymore
  • Starlit Jewel removed from all drop tables (this should've been done long ago, sorry). Their drops are either changed to Void Essence or outright removed
  • Updated warning indicator for Storm Manticore Nest S1 (Gargoyle) lightning strike attack to be easier to read (since this is a nest for newer players)

Misc

  • Empty custom F7/8/9/10 macros no longer send an empty chat message or empty speech bubble
  • PvP lobby now shows a random background image from a pool of images
  • PvP lobby is now FPS capped
  • Costume Mirror (Rune Amplifier) now separates accessories into their own categories

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where not having any UI overlays open (e.g. FPS meter, DPS meter) could sometimes cause a crash if you used a passive skill with a cooldown
  • Fixed an issue where PDGrass wasn't properly interacting with DoF
  • Fixed (probably?) an issue where loading screen help text shadow would desync from its foreground
  • Fixed several miscellenous crashes
  • Fixed a divide by zero issue with skill FoV that could happen under certain circumstances which would cause weird camera behavior
  • Fixed all these accessories not appearing on Vandars. Please continue to submit #⁠reports for cash shop items that do not appear on Vandars and we'll get to them!
  • Fixed several Vandar costumes not being server storagable
  • Fixed PvP lobby background image not rendering
  • Fixed moving the DPS meter if the game window is not positioned at the (0, 0) position on the primary monitor causing it to fly off to narnia
  • Fixed an issue where returning to town while certain fullscreen effects are active resulted in those effects being stuck until the client is restarted
  • Fixed various items' names in the Cash Shop (F11) (particular the Maid sets which were named "Made" instead lmfao). Also all instances of "Long Bow" and "Big Bow" have been renamed to "Longbow"
  • Fixed an issue where forfeiting a BDNTA or DDNTA run after checkpoint would soft-lock the party. You will now correctly forfeit the run and return to field (YOU WILL NOT RETURN TO CHECKPOINT)
  • Fixed an issue that caused DPS bar border setting to not load
  • Fixed several costumes where the effect was stuck on the floor instead of the proper position
  • Fixed a bug where resized allies (pets) were not resizing for other people
