Introduction

Hello chat, it’s Dai, I’m just a fellow PDN player that has been playing since late 2023 and I’ve learned quite a lot throughout the time I’ve been playing. Especially the days where I’ve been playing on potato pc.. But anyways I’m just a sin player, mostly playing Abyss Walker, Light Fury, and Raven, but sometimes I play other classes when I feel like it. I’m just here to update this Jotunn guide since it’s a little outdated.

Anywho, Jotunn nowadays is an ice-stacking support. His gameplay is pretty much slow and casual, and it’s pretty neat for beginners too.

Skills

Assassin

[Preparation]: Hey. hey.. You see that white skill there? You use it to buff yourself and the party on field and whenever a certain mechanic wipes your buffs or your buffs run out.. PRESS IT!!!

[Shadow Hand]: This skill launches a projectile and can be followed up with just a left click to cast [Hoarfrost] (See your CM3/Class Mastery III). The CDs of these 2 skills are on par with each other that you don’t really need to place [Hoarfrost] on your skill bar anyways.

Arashi

[Hoarfrost]: As mentioned before, you can cast this from [Shadow Hand] input. This skill is basically a neat filler skill if your main prio skills are on cds.

[Frostbite]: Close to Mid-range skill that can be followed up by left click to throw a shuriken forward or right click to flip back and toss a shuriken. Normally you don’t really press this skill unless your skills are a few secs in cd. Either inputs can be followed up with any skill, but usually you can reposition yourself with the right click input for [Avalanche], [Hailstorm], or [Jotunheim].

[Rime Blades]: Literally the same as IDNVC Ricardo Attack, this skill does a pretty good amount of dmg for a filler. This can be followed up neatly with [Frigid Shards].

[Frigid Shards]: This skill’s animation changes when casted after certain skills. It has a low cd and it’s fast so you can spam it whenever it’s up. I personally use it after [Hailstorm] sometimes with its awakening version or after [Rime Blades].

[Blizzard]: The instant version should only be used. (Instant pops up after casting [Stigmata] (CM2/Class Mastery II). It’s a good damage skill and can be used close to mid-range.

[Stigmata]: Your ice-stacking skill. You should always be using this skill for 100% ice uptime, otherwise you’re just throwing anyways.. This skill also applies elemental debuff.

[Blink]: [Spacebar] after a tumble for extra distance. Small I-Frame extension.

[Flash]: [RMB] after a tumble for extra distance. Small I-Frame extension.

[Storm Center]: Self buff for damage. You should always cast it especially when you rebuff as it can get wiped in certain raid mechanics.

[Decrystallize]: With its awakened passive, this is a cure for you and your party members. It also casts Frozen Domain which creates a field around you that provides buffs to you as you’re in it.

[Absolute Zero]: Long I-Frame Skill. Back then it used to be an ult that lets you go into dps mode, now it’s just a basic ult anyways. You shouldn’t need to use this unless you’re in a critical situation anyways.

Jotunn

[Avalanche]: Mid-range to Long-Range skill. This skill has a good amount of multi-hit and should be your main priority skill against big bosses.

[Hailstorm]: Mid-Range to Long-Range skill. This is somewhat your best skill but this is your main priority skill against small-mid bosses. [Hailstorm] would be your 2nd best priority skill on big bosses.

[CM1/Class Mastery I]: You can cancel any skill using the [Tumble Input] into [Sleet Step] to try to avoid getting hit in the middle of an animation.

[Glacial Rend]: Close-Mid Range Skill that casts blades of frost in front of you. It’s a neat filler skill whenever your main prio skills are on CD.

[Jotunheim]: Close-Mid Range Skill. Good amount of damage so it’s nice to cast it off cooldown often.

[Frigid Arsenal]: Passive that gives you access to [Icicle Spear] that can be casted after any skill with its RMB.

Skill Build

Unified Skills: Max HP Boost, FD Boost

Skill Crests

[Hailstorm CDR] | [Stigmata CDR] | [Blizzard DMG] | [Hoarfrost DMG] | [Avalanche DMG] | [Rime Blades DMG]

You can take [Avalanche CDR] if you feel more comfortable with that, I just prefer DMG Crest.

Skill up: +1 Hailstorm or +1 Avalanche, your preference.

Rotation

You’ll need to position yourself often in content in order to optimize your damage so that your skills can actually hit.

I’ve gotten 21b one time off-recording but you can certainly reach that, maybe more.

Here’s a somewhat scuffed BTG attempt I did after I woke up

Dragon Gems

3 Destructive & 1 Elemental Gem.

You can do 2/2 anyways, it doesn’t really matter since it’s miniscule..
